English Blog about La Liga

I wonder how many blogs one can find about LaLiga in Spain written in English. Maybe this blog could be one of them. At least its name refers to an imaginary team playing in La Liga …

Now thanks to Facebook people from India and other Asian countries would be able to follow LaLiga for free and I wonder if this could not be a blog written in English about football in La liga …

This blog is written in Catalonia where you have GIRONA, BARCELONA and ESPANYOL playing LaLiga, the first division of Spanish football.

LaLiga in English for India

CASTELLDEFELSEDC
CASTELLDEFELS BEACH

Some months ago I registered http://www.espanyoldecornella.com. Then I realized that most visits to this blog came from India. Now I have read that Facebook has bought the rights of LaLiga for some Asian countries including India. So LaLiga matches will be seen in India via Facebook.

Facebook has seen an opportunity in India bringing the Spanish LaLiga. Funnily I also realized the potential some months ago.

I will keep an eye on visitors to this blog from India. In any case, what can I offer? I am not Facebook! I am just someone living near FC BARCELONA and ESPANYOL stadiums who can speak Catalan, Castilian and English? What could I do?

Could I write maybe about Castelldefels, the place where Lionel Messi lives? I know the castle, the beaches, the new library, the mountains. I also know Girona. I mean the city. And I have been too in Madrid.

I wanted to make some business having the domain http://www.espanyoldecornella.com

Maybe it could be a website made in Catalonia for Indian fans of La Liga. Written in English. But there are already newspapers from Barcelona and Madrid who have online websites about sports in Spain. I cannot compete with them. Neither can I compete with Facebook bringing you LaLiga.

Maybe I could write about things that neither Facebook or these newspapers may tell you. You may wonder which Spanish team to follow or be fan of? Should one follow Sevilla or Betis? Should one follow Real Madrid or Atlético de Madrid? Should one follow Espanyol or Barça? I am saying this because these pairs share location (well, Gerard Piqué may say otherwise …)

I could also write about things that maybe fans from India have no idea. For example this season they will see one team called HUESCA. For them it may just be one more team playing in PRIMERA DIVISIÓN. But for me it is quite different. HUESCA is a city in Aragon near the Pyrenees. The capital of Aragón is ZARAGOZA and usually ZARAGOZA was the only team from Aragon which played in PRIMERA DIVISIÓN. People in Spain know this and so do people in Huesca and Zaragoza! So Huesca is the first time playing in PRIMERA DIVISION. Just that is impressing but it is even more impressive that it is doing that while ZARAGOZA is not.

Another thing of interest if what happens in the team of GIRONA. It is related to MANCHESTER CITY and there is the brother of Pep Guardiola behind. Some days ago a Brazilian player continued on loan in Girona because the British authorities let him not have a job permission in the UK! Guardiola, the coach, was quite angry.

Well, let see if anyone likes this kind of post. I can mix a bit of football, gossip and what surrounds football.

By the way, I once saw a cricket match in England …

HELLO INDIA FROM BARCELONA!

It is a bit sad. I would like to have website that was a success worldwide but I know that I have to forget any success in Barcelona or Cornellà maybe because Espanyol de Cornellà will be too controversial. But in India, far far away from Barcelona I feel more at peace. Because they can read Espanyol de Cornellà with less emotions than here so they may just be interested in reading a blog made in Catalonia with a phrase that has become famous because a Barça player used it to refer to another team, in this case RCD Espanyol de Barcelona. Sometimes, when you read news form far away you fantasize a bit. I already fantasize about anyone reading this post in India. I imagine some elephant not very far away and a lot of carpets and clothes of beautiful colurs. Sometimes I was some music video clips made in a Bollywood style.

Some of the most famous sport newspapers in Catalonia and Spain have also an English version so I wonder why any person from India may visit this blog. I think they came here because some of my posts are written in English and they wanted to know more about the phrase Espanyol de Cornellà..

It would be very funny for me to create posts about Spanish football thinking about my visitors from India. It would be funny because I usually do not follow football. I can speak more about cities, about Barcelona, about Cornellà de Llobregat, about Catalonia.

It is strange, very strange. When I learnt English in Catalonia some years ago, I always thought about moving to the UK. I also thought about going for some months to the USA. But I never thought about India. At most I thought about going to Sydney.

But now thanks to stats from wordpress I know this blog is receiving visits from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. And a kind of new world opens to me. I think some people so this new world before me … I am thinking about The Beatles!

Anyway, I do not think I am going to be of much use about Spanish football. In any case I think I can be quite neutral as I am not a fan of any particular team.

Now I am just offering free teaching of Castilian and Catalan. Castilian is the way we speak here Spanish. So if there is any visitor from India who may dream to go to South America with a Spanish accent from Europe … you may have come to the right place!

LIST OF COUNTRIES VISITING THIS BLOG

FEBRUARY 1SR 2018

With less than a week alive this blog is receiving visits from

SPAIN US INDIA PAKISTAN BANGLADESH UNITED KINGDOM SOUTH AFRICA AND LITHUANIA

So, most visitors com from English speaking countries. The visits from the US may be related to robots too. My visits count as visits from Spain.

So, from the stats I can see how important is the language you use! Football is very related to Europe and Soth America but I do not get any visits from South America nor from most of Europe. No visits from France, Portugal, Germany, , Italy.

It must be because my blog is not written in French or Portuguese or German or Italian …

Some of my posts are written in Castilian but not many and people in South America have a lot of websites from Spain to read!

CONCLUSIONS:

When you create a domain or blog you may ask who can visit you and the language you use is very important it seems.

So my posts related to Gerard Piqué and football (not my SEO EXPERIMENTS posts like this) are visited outside Spain mostly by  people from … India!

I would have never thought that! But once I know it is obvious that this could happen! India is a country full of people and they speak English!

This seems crazy. I create a website about a fictitious aristocrat called Espanyol de Cornellà and i just get most visits from India (except visits form Spain or US) as searches are made about the expression of Gerard Piqué.

SO WHAT TO DO NEXT?

One possibility is to write for the countries that visit me! I receive visits from India so I make content related to my visitors? Well, I do not know what to do except giving thanks to them! I could make a post about India or Indian football but I do not think then Indians would visit me!

Another possibility is not to change my course and follow as know wherever the visits come from!

Maybe I could be a website about football in Spain for visitors from India. But how? How on earth I customize my blog for Indian followers? Should I write some post about Bollywood? I do not think that may interest people from India. They have their own websites! Maybe I could customize my blog with an Indian design so people from India love my website while giving them information about La Liga Santander … Or maybe I just could be a website about FC BARCELONA and RCD ESPANYOL. In Catalonia this would not make sense! People from Barça would not like a website about them called ESPANYOL DE CORNELLÀ and people from Espanyol would not like the name. But to people from India, Espanyol de Cornellà may just remind them of Barça and Espanyol.
