English Blog about La Liga

I wonder how many blogs one can find about LaLiga in Spain written in English. Maybe this blog could be one of them. At least its name refers to an imaginary team playing in La Liga …

Now thanks to Facebook people from India and other Asian countries would be able to follow LaLiga for free and I wonder if this could not be a blog written in English about football in La liga …

This blog is written in Catalonia where you have GIRONA, BARCELONA and ESPANYOL playing LaLiga, the first division of Spanish football.

BCN Espanyol de Cornella SOCCER BALL

This blog has few posts that are intended for visitors from the USA in particular but this is one of them. I am writing from Barcelona.

Well here I show you a soccer ball where you can read BCN Espanyol de Cornella. You can buy it at Zazzle.

But … what does BCN Espanyol de Barcelona mean?

Well, BCN is the code of El Prat, the Barcelona airport. And Espanyol de Cornella is just the name of this blog and my website www.espanyoldecornella.com

Cornella is pronounced in an Italian way like mozzarella.

But you may wonder why I call my website Espanyol de Cornella.

Well here in Barcelona we have two soccer teams (we call them football teams in Europe) One is FC Barcelona also known as Barça or Barca. The other is called Espanyol or RCD Espanyol de Barcelona. Both were born in Barcelona about a century ago.

Near Barcelona, maybe less than 5 miles, we have a town called Cornellà de Llobregat. The Espanyol has a new stadium and it is in Cornellà and in El Prat.

Some weeks ago a player from Barca called Espanyol just Espanyol de Cornellà and there was a lot of controversy. He said these words after he had been insulted, his son too and his wife, Shakira, too.

Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia and known worlwide. Cornellà is a small town near Barcelona. Cornellà is not pronounced in the same way as mu Cornella. My Cornella is pronounced in an Italian way as I said. Like in Cornella bianca … So some people in Espanyol and in Cornellà got quite angry because using the phrase Espanyol de Cornellà there could be a feeling that Barcelona was good and Cornellà was bad.

Some hours later I registered www.espanyoldecornella.com But I have nothing to do with football! I mean with soccer.

I just know that Espanyol de Cornellà got famous and I am just using Espanyol de Cornella. The pronunciation is quite different. I pronounce it in an Italian way as I said before.

Now I am selling different products in Zazzle. But this product, a soccer ball, is a very special product to sell for me. Because I would have not registered http://www.espanyoldecornella.com  if Gerard Piqué had not said that phrase.

So in this soccer ball you have:

  • a logo designed in Barcelona
  • BCN that refers to Barcelona
  • Espanyol de Cornella that resembles Espanyol de Cornellà, the phrase said by a Barça player about Espanyol.

So there is a lot in this soccer ball that is related to Barcelona I feel … just with an Italian touch

With less than a week alive this blog is receiving visits from

So, most visitors com from English speaking countries. The visits from the US may be related to robots too. My visits count as visits from Spain.

So, from the stats I can see how important is the language you use! Football is very related to Europe and Soth America but I do not get any visits from South America nor from most of Europe. No visits from France, Portugal, Germany, , Italy.

It must be because my blog is not written in French or Portuguese or German or Italian …

Some of my posts are written in Castilian but not many and people in South America have a lot of websites from Spain to read!

When you create a domain or blog you may ask who can visit you and the language you use is very important it seems.

So my posts related to Gerard Piqué and football (not my SEO EXPERIMENTS posts like this) are visited outside Spain mostly by  people from … India!

I would have never thought that! But once I know it is obvious that this could happen! India is a country full of people and they speak English!

This seems crazy. I create a website about a fictitious aristocrat called Espanyol de Cornellà and i just get most visits from India (except visits form Spain or US) as searches are made about the expression of Gerard Piqué.

One possibility is to write for the countries that visit me! I receive visits from India so I make content related to my visitors? Well, I do not know what to do except giving thanks to them! I could make a post about India or Indian football but I do not think then Indians would visit me!

Another possibility is not to change my course and follow as know wherever the visits come from!

Maybe I could be a website about football in Spain for visitors from India. But how? How on earth I customize my blog for Indian followers? Should I write some post about Bollywood? I do not think that may interest people from India. They have their own websites! Maybe I could customize my blog with an Indian design so people from India love my website while giving them information about La Liga Santander … Or maybe I just could be a website about FC BARCELONA and RCD ESPANYOL. In Catalonia this would not make sense! People from Barça would not like a website about them called ESPANYOL DE CORNELLÀ and people from Espanyol would not like the name. But to people from India, Espanyol de Cornellà may just remind them of Barça and Espanyol.
